GLORIOUS WORD DEVOTIONAL

KILL THE LUST IN YOU

(James 1:14–15) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

As a Christian, there are certain things you should not entertain. One of them is lust. In our verses of meditation for today, we see how temptation leads to death. The process begins with lust, then enticement, then a full conception of lust, leading to the birth of sin, and death. Since it all begins with lust, you must kill lust before it kills you. The best way to kill lust is to stay in prayer and address it. Tell the Holy Spirit of God, to burn every fiber of lust in you.

See the advice of Jesus in Matthew 26:41.He said, “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Did you notice what He said about the flesh? In paraphrasing, I can say He said, be disciplined and don’t trust your flesh. Then again, He showed you how to tame your flesh. Prayer! Stay in prayer and kill any form of lust in you. Declare that you won’t submit to any form of lust from today forward. Halleluyah!

Confession: In the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, lust will not have a place in my body or life. Lust is dead in me. I have dominated my flesh so my flesh will not sin. I have submitted my spirit, soul, and body to the obedience of the Word of Christ. Halleluyah!

Say this if you have never been born again. I declare from today that Jesus Christ is my Lord and I believe that God raised Him from the dead.

Congratulations

You can begin to attract God’s goodness into your life from today.
